The Sonoma State University Library is located in the Jean & Charles Schulz Information Center: a dynamic, transformative place where the SSU community comes together to share ideas, explore, and create knowledge. Explore the Jean & Charles Schulz Information Center

The Jean and Charles Schulz Information Center was designed as a resource for the entire Sonoma State University community. The Information Center opened in August 2000, and boasts 215,000 square feet across three floors.

The Jean and Charles Schulz Information Center houses the University Library, the Learning and Academic Resource Center, University Advising, Center for Academic Access & Student Enrichment (CAASE), the HUB Center, the DREAM Center, Disability Services for Students, and EdEon.

First Floor

On the first floor, you can:

Book a study room.
Get a snack from the vending machines.
Charge your phone at our charging station.
Use computers and printers in our information commons.
Get writing or tutoring help at the Learning and Academic Resource Center (LARC).
Register for classes with guidance from University Advising.
Visit the Center for Academic Access & Student Enrichment (CAASE) for support as a underrepresented or under-served student.
Visit the HUB for connection, community, and conversation honoring cultures and worldviews.

Second Floor

On the second floor, you can:

Borrow materials and technology from the Information / Checkout Desk.
Get support finding and citing information for your research project at the Research Help Desk.
Dream, make, prototype, and innovate in the library's Makerspace.
Find popular and leisure reading materials in Lobo's Lounge.
Take a study break by enjoying art in the library gallery or our mural honoring the legacy of César Chávez.

Third Floor

On the third floor, you can:

Reserve a study room to meet with a group or attend a zoom class.
Browse books available for your research and reading.
Find a comfortable and quiet place to study.
See highlights from our special collections and university archives.
Enjoy some sun by studying on our library terrace.

When is the library open?

The library is available 24/7 to support your teaching, learning, and research. Most of our e-resources are available anytime with a SSU login. You can get help from a librarian at any hour of the day through our chat service. The library building's hours vary based on the time of year, take a look at our website for current open hours.

In the final two weeks of each semester, the library's 1st floor is continuously open 24/7. These expanded operating hours are intended to provide a safe, late-night study spot and support students as they prepare for their final exams and projects.
